Maths workout plan
Score targets and a practical four-week drill based on 2024–2026 Maths Standard patterns. Pattern is fixed — marks go to clear concepts, neat steps, and calm case-study reading.
Goal band
50–60
Secure A + B + easier C; attempt all case studies
Goal band
60–70
Add clean D proofs + AP / quadratic word problems
Goal band
70–80
Zero careless MCQ loss; neat diagrams; full case-study accuracy
Highest-ROI weekly practice
- Assertion–Reason drills (every paper has two)
- Circle tangent proofs (esp. parallelogram ⇒ rhombus)
- AP sum / nth-term word problems
- Probability with dice / coins / bags
- Sector–segment–arc (major vs minor)
- Heights & distances with clear diagrams
- Case-study reading (underline numbers first)
Week 1
Accuracy bank (Section A)
20 MCQs + 5 AR daily — Real Numbers, Polynomials, Linear, Quadratic, AP, Probability
Week 2
Geometry engine (B / C / D)
Circles, similarity, coordinate geometry; rewrite top proofs; neat figures
Week 3
Application engine
Heights & distances, areas related to circles, SA & volumes, statistics
Week 4
Full papers
Alternate 2024–2026 PYQ sets with Standard Maths samples under strict 3-hour timing
Exam-hall order
- Section A — fast but careful
- Section E — case studies while reading energy is high
- Section B + C
- Section D — proofs and long calculations last
Proofs to rewrite until fluent
- Tangents from an external point are equal
- Tangents at the ends of a diameter
- Parallelogram circumscribing a circle is a rhombus
- Opposite sides of a quadrilateral circumscribing a circle
- Basic Proportionality / similarity angle chasing
Mistake checklist (tick before submitting)
- Assertion–Reason: did I check if R explains A?
- Sector/segment: major or minor?
- AP: an vs Sn correct?
- Quadratic: discriminant condition checked?
- Heights & distances: correct triangle after movement?
- Statistics: correct mid-value / cumulative frequency?
- Diagrams drawn where needed?
- Final answers have units where required?
